The opening reception at Galleri Saltum in Denmark was very successful. The work was well received and two large paintings sold right away. After that, several other people expressed interest in those two pieces. Even though innovation, originality and individuality are, in the cultural sector, often thought to be a mark of achievement, here, partly, I think, it was the stamp of approval that peaked interest. To me, each painting has a different quality, needs a different kind of home. It was, to be sure, the most forceful ones that sold first. The quieter ones take more time to meet their places.
These paintings are fairly large, five, six, seven feet wide. I seem to work best large and they filled the space well. I’ve been home a week and already painting again. It was a very inspiring trip. (More photos still to come!)
