DJ left a comment on my last posted photo: She pointed out some textures there that could be inspiration for a painting. Actually, I chose that photo because it reminds me of my current paintings. The quiet, slightly obscured images in the background (or underpainting) are becoming more important than they used to be and are not often staying so quiet. That’s what is unsettling and preoccupying me in my recent work.
This morning Lila and I lay on our recently installed dock. Waiting for summer. The clouds gave me a broader view. Summer will be here, eventually.
