The brook, originally uploaded by leyaevelyn.
The weather has been unusually supportive lately: sunshine, cool breezes, not too many bugs. Inviting. So when I discovered my studio door was stuck closed on Sunday morning, had come off the hinges somehow, I accepted the invitation and spent the day outdoors. I worked in my garden, walked by the brook with Lila, put together a couple of Adirondack chairs, cooked and had company for dinner.
As the paintings seem to pile up too quickly, it was good to have an excuse to stay away. The door is fixed now and I am back at work. A couple of days away didn’t hurt at all. And I can still spend time in the garden and walking on the trail, but painting really is my first priority.
