The sun was strong, the air pure, a perfect day. I took Lila to Bayswater Beach with my friend Heather and her dog, Clancy. Lila didn’t stop running into the water and back, chasing the ball, for two hours, without a break. She never seemed to tire.
Clancy is getting on and not as active now. He enjoyed the beach and possibly enjoyed watching Lila’s antics. Heather was grateful Lila was not her dog. I am grateful she is mine. I love her energy. Not everyone does, I know. But, as my mom would say, that’s what makes horse racing.
