Because we are being promised rain tonight, and for the weekend, I went out and bought some rubber boots yesterday. This afternoon, I was able to wade through the muck and mud to get to the dock so I could bail out the boats before it rains again. The water was within an inch of the top of my boots, but I made it to the boats okay. I managed to clean up the paddle boat completely but almost fell in when working on the canoe. It did seem strange to be adding more water to an already overflowing lake. At least I saved the boats.
The dock, which usually sits a foot or more above the water, may be another story. As long as we don’t get more of that very heavy rain, I think it will be okay.
Noah would be proud of me!
