Beginnings

With such a big expanse of white, it was hard to know where to begin. At first I thought I wouldn’t include any collage elements, thought they would be too obvious. But even before I started, the impulse to glue things to the canvas was stronger than any ideas I might have about it. The collage pieces just ended up being bigger, of course.
