Another funeral yesterday. It was held in Point Pleasant Park at the Gazebo. The sun was strong, as was the wind. The air cool. The ceremony was as she wished it to be, with poems, song, memories and warmth of feeling.
The funeral was for the mother of a friend. I had been with the mother and daughter several times and had admired the closeness between them. They were family and they were friends.
It was very inspiring to hear, not just of the beauty and kindness of the person the mother was, but how gracefully she died. Knowing it was her time, she prepared her family as gently and thoroughly as she had lived. It seems, if possible, that is what life is all about.
